Just ordered a Canon HV20! My camcorder’s been buggered for a while, and I think I’m finally ready to make some new videos. Watch out! Of course, this could be all talk, but NO WAY HOMIE. WATCH OUT!
HOLY HATS! WATCH OUT BECAUSE I’VE ORDERED A NEW CAMCORDER AND I MIGHT MAKE SOME NEW VIDEOS AND PUT THEM ONTO THE INTERNET!
Also I got a job in an independent cinema which is pretty sweet, apparently we get 25 free tickets a week! Can’t be right, I’m sure. But still, I’ma watch an arseload of films. Even the bad ones.
I’ve only worked one shift so far, but I learned about this old man called Lionel. The story is that a while ago Lionel used to come in pretty much every day to watch a film. He went so much that he just kept blowing his pension on film tickets. I suppose if you find something you really enjoy doing at that age you just don’t care. However, his family wanted him to eat food and such, so unfortunately they had to put a stop to it.
The heartwarming bit is that, as Lionel had become such a familiar and well loved figure in the cinema, the people that run it decided to let him come and see films whenever he wants - free of charge!
I saw him on Friday, dressed in a suit. Apparently he always comes to the cinema properly dressed. He’s from Argentina originally and was a fighter pilot in the war. There’s still the pilot spirit in him, so he always tries to charm the girls that work in the cinema, speaking Spanish to them in the hope that they’ll speak it back.
I’m looking forward to talking to him, although apparently he’s not that with it any more. He doesn’t really remember which films he’s seen, unless he didn’t like it.
Anyway, I’m really glad to be working in a place that not only cares about independent cinema, but also about wonderful people like Lionel.
Whooyah for the Picture House!
WHOOYAH.
